JAN-ERIC MACK
DIRECTOR/WRITER
Jan-Eric Mack was trained as graphic designer before studying directing at the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK). His Master film “Facing Mecca” won the Swiss Film Award, a Student Academy Award and made it to the shortlist of the 90th Academy Awards.
In 2019, Mack shot the 3rd season of the successful drama series “Wilder” for Swiss Television SRF. In 2023, he completed the series “Davos 1917” which premiered at the Zurich Film Festival in October 2023 and was broadcast on Swiss Television SRF and ARD in December 2023.
Based in Zurich, he works as a director and writer.

Davos 1917
Jan-Eric Mack directed the series “Davos 1917,” a high-end drama series from Zurich-based film producer Contrast Film in co-production with Letterbox Filmproduction and Swiss Radio and Television.
“1917 – World War I is raging in Europe. In contrast, the noble mountain spa town of Davos in neutral Switzerland seems like an oasis of peace. But behind the scenes, Davos takes center stage in a relentless spy war between the world powers. To escape from her golden cage, the young nurse Johanna Gabathuler gets involved in a deadly game with the German secret service – and suddenly becomes the key to tipping the scales of power.”
