STEPHAN RICK
DIRECTOR/WRITER
Stephan Rick is a director and writer. He studied at the Film Academy Baden-Württemberg.
Stephan's work has received national and international attention: His diploma film "Richtung Leben" received the Studio Hamburg Nachwuchspreis, among others. The thriller series "Allein gegen die Zeit," which he co-developed and directed, was nominated for the Banff World TV Award and the International Emmy Award, among others.
His first feature-length film, the psychodrama "Unter Nachbarn," had its world premiere in competition at the Shanghai Film Festival and was shown at over twenty festivals worldwide. The Martin Suter bestselling film adaptation "The Dark Side of the Moon" was released in 2016. The horror thriller "The Super" had its theatrical release in the U.S. in 2018 and was sold worldwide. In 2021, he directed and co-wrote the US remake of his feature film “The Good Neighbor,” starring Jonathan Rhys Meyers.
In 2022, he directed the six-part mini-series “Die Quellen des Bösen,” which leads into the abysses of the German-German past and deals with the question of personal guilt.
