MATHIAS KLASCHKA

WRITER

Mathias Klaschka studied American Studies and Film Studies in Hamburg and was an ensemble member of a free theater group before writing his first screenplays. After moving to Berlin, he met film producers Regina and Tanja Ziegler, and thus began his success story.

He has written over 40 films for the Zieglers across a wide variety of genres, from comedy to crime and drama, often with outstanding ratings. Klaschka conceived the TV series “Mordkommission Istanbul,” “Kommissarin Heller” (ZDF) with Lisa Wagner and Hans-Jochen Wagner, as well as “Solo für Weiss” with Anna Maria Mühe, for which he writes the majority of the scripts.

For the distinguished actor Ulrich Noethen, he wrote the thriller series “Neben der Spur.” Some of his best known works include “Von Erholung war nie die Rede”, directed by Vivian Naefe, the Siegfried Lenz adaptation “Der Anfang von etwas,” directed by Thomas Berger, and the 2021 Christmas comedy “Mona und Marie” with Maren Kroymann and Ulrike Kriener, directed by Marco Petry, which premiered at the 2021 Film Festival Cologne.

DER BOZEN Krimi - Mein ist die Rache

A new episode of the ARD/Degeto crime series “Der Bozen Krimi” was produced based on Mathias Klaschka's script. The producer is once again Merfee Film- und Fernsehproduktion and the director is Josh Broecker. It was first broadcast in March and is now available in the ARD Mediathek.

 

Mona & Marie II - Ein etwas anderer geburtstag

The sequel to ZDF's successful Christmas comedy "Mona & Marie" has been produced by Warner Bros. Maren Kroymann and Ulrike Kriener are again playing the lead roles, with Britta Keils directing. The film was broadcast in December as "TV movie of the week" on ZDF and is now available in the ZDF Mediathek.

THE HAUNTING

Shirley Jacksons "The Haunting of Hill House", der womöglich beste Spuk-Roman aller Zeiten, wurde 1963 von Robert Wise als “The Haunting” (“Bis das Blut gefriert”) genial verfilmt. Die gleichnamige Filmversion von Jan de Bont aus dem Jahr 1999 sollte man eher vermeiden, die gleichnamige US-Miniserie von 2018 hingegen nicht. Eine Schauergeschichte für jede Generation.
